For brands, TravelByDrone is a great resource to see and understand the growing possibilities of using drones and aerial video is a variety of creative ways.
Drones have become all the rage in video world, and travel brands have started taking notice.
We did a story in March about how travel marketers — especially resorts and destinations — are beginning to create these aerial videos, to bring a different flavor and level of creativity to their portfolio videos.
Now a site has emerged that tracks aerial/drone travel videos from around the world, and conveniently places them on a map for users to navigate around by region. The site, TravelByDrone, was launched about three months ago by Zurich-based drone enthusiast Jan Hiersemenzel, creating a great resource for travelers to get inspired by these destinations videos.
The site also lets anyone share a YouTube video and add the corresponding location, which appears on the map with a pin where the video footage had been recorded.
CNN recently did a short interview with Hiersemenzel on his inspiration for starting this site:
This one below, the only aerial drone video from Antarctica, is particularly breathtaking.
