The New American Airlines Begins Its Future by Ringing NASDAQ's Opening Bell


New American Airlines CEO Doug Parker was flanked by former CEO's Tom Horton and Robert Crandall, along with executives and labor representatives, as he rang the opening bell of the NASDAQ stock exchange from American's headquarters in Dallas, TX.

The stock of American Airlines Group Inc. begins trading today as AAL.

 

Parker gave a brief speech outlining the themes he's touched on in recent interviews related to customer service and strength in size. Alluding to the challenges posed by airlines outside of U.S. borders, Parker said. "We need to be the greatest in the world."
