Airbus beat up Boeing at the Paris Air Show last month, and Boeing's Dreamliner debacle didn't help. This battle between the two aircraft manufacturing giants is fun to watch, and healthy for competition and the industry.

The battle for supremacy in the skies continues as Boeing (BA) announced Wednesday that it delivered more planes in the first half of the year, but Airbus had beat Boeing in orders at the Paris Air Show.

Boeing announced it had delivered 306 planes so far this year, including 17 of its problematic 787 Dreamliners. The aerospace giant is behind on its deliveries of the Dreamliner due to a battery problem with the planes earlier this year. Boeing expects to deliver 60 787s by the end of the year.
