Skift Take
A merger between the three airlines based in three different continents would create an economic powerhouse and establish Brazil as the South American leader in aviation, but such a takeover remains unlikely.
The entrepreneur David Neeleman, owner of Azul, is creating a fund for the purchase of the Portuguese airline TAP Portugal and JetBlue, which he founded.
The idea in the future is to integrate the three companies forming a national superaérea with routes to Europe, Africa and USA.
“I always think about things we can do, but right now, I’m focused in Blue”, Neeleman said…“It is not true that I go buy a TAP or JetBlue.”
