Singapore Airlines surprises holiday flyers by replacing bags with presents in Manila

Skift Take

The airline’s act of appreciation is felt by travelers beyond those on flight SQ910 thanks to social media spreading the image of a baggage carousel filled with presents. But it begs the question: Where's your gift if you didn't check a bag?

All 268 Singapore Airline passengers who planed in from the Lion City got a special welcome yesterday afternoon when the air carrier surprised them with Christmas gifts upon their arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

As soon as the 268 passengers, including two infants, onboard flight SQ910 cleared immigration checks and reached the baggage conveyor area to retrieve their belongings, colorful boxed gifts suddenly came out of the baggage conveyor belts, each bearing their names.

Singapore Airlines country Manager Ranjan Jha said the gift-giving was their way of thanking their passengers for their continued patronage and as a way for spreading Christmas cheer.
