Courtyard by Marriott's new ad campaign capitalizes on NFL partnership

Skift Take

The comparisons between football players and business travelers run deep in this campaign; and there's no better way to make guests feel like a superstar than compare them to their favorite QB.

Courtyard by Marriott has kicked off a new ad campaign commemorating a second year of the hotel chain's partnership with the National Football League. The recently released commercials tap into guests' love of the game, as well as compares the dedication and achievements of business travelers to those of football players.

The comparisons reach beyond advertising to offer guests unique opportunities to get closer to the game, or at least feel like a football star themselves. Courtyard plans to feature one guest a week as Courtyard's road warrior hero to parallel the NFL "Greatness on the Road" player of the week award. It is also running sweepstakes for 2013 season tickets and gives scratch-and-win cards to guests that check in on football weeknights.

As hotels search for ways to distinguish themselves from the competition, the Courtyard brand is sitting pretty with a marketing campaign connected to the most watched sporting events in America.

Below are the Courtyard by Marriott TV commercials that were released earlier this week.
