It's surprising that all airlines haven't created mobile-optimized sites for booking, but Alaska Air now joins those airlines that realize mobile sites are a necessity to keep up with the needs of today’s business travelers.
Alaska Airlines’ mobile website now allows its customers to purchase tickets from any Internet-capable mobile device, including smartphones.
The carrier, which has a reputation for embracing new technology, plans to add self-bag tagging kiosks at the South Florida airport in the near future as it continues to rollout the new service system-wide.
The airline has also rolled out its Flight Status On the Go feature that enables customers to text 252752 (ALASKA) for up-to-date flight status information, including arrival and departure times and gate information.
