Port Canaveral's new $64 million terminal received its first cruise ship Monday

The port is used primarily by Carnival Cruise Lines who hope to sign a new multiyear agreement with the port so they can continue to rake in profit that comes from advertising a brand new embarkation point.

Port Canaveral’s new Cruise Terminal 6 received its first cruise ship Monday morning, as the Carnival Ecstasy came into port. It sailed out later in the day at full capacity.

The $64 million terminal and parking garage complex will be used primarily by Carnival, which has three ships based at Port Canaveral. Carnival also uses Brevard County’s seaport for port-of-call stops by some of its other ships.
