Skift Take

Jones is now headed into a territory where few have survived, but if anyone is prepared it is he.

Terry Jones, founder of the new travel booking startup WayBlazer, spoke earlier this month at the Skift Global Forum.

Although Jones is well-known for founding Travelocity, and being an early supporter of Kayak, it’s his work with the new WayBlazer and its integration of IBM’s Watson technology that has him excited about what’s next. Jones’ talk, “The Radical Technology Changing Online Travel,” covered how new technology is reshaping travel inspiration and trip-planning — two subjects that have been the focus of more than one travel startup.

“The number one source of travel advice is still friends,” Jones told the Forum audience. “We [WayBlazer] can make getting travel advice just as easy as a conversation.”

Over the next three weeks, we will publish in full the presentations and interviews from the Forum. To follow along as they are added, bookmark this page.
