South African Airways is the top airline in Africa but it still can’t get its financial house in order

SAA has everything going for it except itself. It's failure to get a hold on all the moving parts of running an airline starts at the top.
If I have to read one more time that South African Airways (SAA) has been voted the top airline in Africa for the past 10 years, I think I’ll be ill. Who will ever be ahead of us: Air Malawi? Air Egypt? Air Zimbabwe? Of course we’re the best airline in Africa, but ag shame that SAA has nothing else to crow about. God forbid the day when all we have is the best drinking water or the best sewerage works in Africa.
Where does the big gorilla sleep? Wherever he wants to! If you are indeed the biggest and the best in your market, then, without having to break competition rules, you should at least be able to make a buck.
