Caucasus countries fight over who has the best wine scene

If Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia could just lay down their 16th-century rivalries and get along for a minute people may remember what a rich history the Caucasus holds and book a trip rather than giggle at their perennial spats.

Perhaps not surprisingly, it didn't take long for the the European Union's decision to grant Georgia the exclusive right to market its wine bottles with the slogan "Georgia - The Cradle of Wine" to create some controversy in the Caucasus.

As the Hvino News website, which covers the Georgian wine scene, reports, the Union of Winemakers of Armenia is looking into how it might appeal Brussels' decision.
