Southwest is banning the use of wearable technology such as AI-powered smart glasses in the workplace. Sales of Meta’s smart glasses tripled over the last year.

Southwest Airlines is not allowing employees to wear smart glasses or any other wearable technology with recording capabilities during working hours, according to a memo sent to employees Thursday that was seen by Skift.   

The memo said the devices would not be allowed on or off company premises and includes wireless earbuds that have recording capabilities.
