Yotel Hires Marriott Exec as New CEO — Exclusive

Skift Take

Yotel has the backing, the pipeline, and the owner pitch. Its new CEO Phil Andreopoulos is tasked with turning that into disciplined, profitable growth.

UK-based hotel chain Yotel has appointed Phil Andreopoulos as its new CEO, bringing in a veteran of Marriott International to lead the brand's next phase of global expansion and sharpen its competitive edge.

“I have always looked at Yotel with a lot of admiration, because it really is a fantastic brand,” Andreopoulos told Skift in his first interview since taking the role. “To come to Yotel, the pioneer in this space, and take over as CEO — it is kind of a career dream, really.”

Andreopoulos spent the last two decades at Marriott International, most recently as chief commercial officer for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), overseeing sales, marketing, and brand growth across 78 countries.

Former CEO Hubert Viriot, who led the company from 2014, will remain involved as vice chairman.
