It seems Expedia is happy to bide its time to find a replacement for Andy Washington, its managing director for Northern Europe.

Expedia’s current managing director for Northern Europe, Andy Washington, is leaving to join Emirates Group-owned dnata as its European business to consumer chief executive.

There are no plans to replace him at the moment and his role will be covered on an interim basis by the regional commercial directors for Brand Expedia and Ebookers. A departure date has yet to be announced.

In his new role, Washington will be responsible for dnata’s European travel consumer business portfolio, including Travel Republic, Sunmaster, Travelbag and Netflights.

Before joining Expedia he worked for Thomas Cook, lastminute.com and Cosmos Holidays.

Expedia has two other regional heads in Europe: a managing director for Central Europe and a managing director for Southern Europe. They report to Gary Morrison, senior vice president and head of retail at Brand Expedia Group.
