>>Triposo raised a $3.1 million venture round from undisclosed investors bringing the Berlin, Germany-based startup's total funding to more than $9 million.

Triposo is an iOS and Android algorithm-based travel guide app that delivers information, maps and customized recommendations for travelers. It also works offline and the startup claims to have 25,000 destinations and 6 million travelers on the app.

>>HostelHunting raised a $500,000 seed round from new investor KK Fund and this is the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-based startup's first funding round.

The startup lists more than 20,000 hostel accommodations on its site and focuses on helping students find rooms near colleges and universities around the world.
