Northstar Travel Media Continues Buying Spree, Buys Mountain Travel Symposium

Skift Take

Northstar is assembling a diverse mix of legacy travel brands.

Northstar Travel Media announced today that it has purchased Mountain Travel Symposium, an annual gathering of North American skiing and resort professionals.

The 40-year old Mountain Travel Symposium held its most recent event this past week in Breckenridge, Colorado.

The value of the deal was not revealed.

This is Northstar’s second purchase this month. On April 7 it purchased Singapore-based Web In Travel in a deal valued under $5 million. In March it purchased two Travel Weekly publications and an event organizer in Singapore and China.

As part of the deal, MTS president and CEO Michael J. Pierson will produce the event in 2015 and 2016.
