Google Wallet Is A New Marketing Channel For Avis

Avis Car Rental has a new marketing channel — Google Wallet.

Avis thus became the first car-rental company to integrate into Google Wallet, which enables Android and iPhone users to easily locate loyalty program information, and separately to send money in the U.S.

Travelers can use the Google Wallet mobile app to enroll in Avis Preferred, which enables users to skip the lines at the rental counter and proceed right to the lot in the U.S. and Canada.

These travelers will be able to save their Avis Wizard number in Google Wallet, as can existing Avis Preferred members.

Avis states that Google Wallet users can “receive offers for Avis rentals directly via Google Wallet and easily retrieve their Wizard number when needed.”

In other words, Avis will use Google Wallet as a merchandising channel.
