Indian Booking Site Yatra Shows Internet Brands How to Advertise Offline

Skift Take

Online travel websites are starting to take their marketing efforts offline to build brand awareness and gain new customers via print and TV campaigns. This is a good example of a multi-faceted service distilling its message down to a simple but powerful image.

Yatra illustrates what traveling on a shoestring budget literally looks like in its latest ad campaign.

The Indian online travel agency and search engine launched a print ad campaign this spring. The campaign targets budget-conscious travelers with ads that feature European landmarks. The structures are creatively made out of shoelaces.

The ads let the images speak for themselves. The only text is a small Yatra stamp with words "Budget Holidays."

The ads were created by New Delhi advertising agency McCann Worldgroup.
