TripAdvisor has become really popular in Singapore this year

Skift Take

The number of users is growing throughout Asia-Pacific and the region now accounts for a sixth of the site’s unique visits each month.

TripAdvisor, a website where users post reviews about their experiences at hotels, restaurants and the like, is taking off in a big way in Singapore.

It received 200,000 unique visitors in the Republic in August, 37 per cent more than in the same month last year. The top three things searched for are reviews of hotels in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

TripAdvisor, which is 12 years old, receives more than 60 million unique visits a month, with about 10 million of them from the Asia-Pacific region. In total, 422 Singapore hotels and other forms of accommodation are listed.
