Four Seasons are becoming a given feature at UNESCO World Heritage Sites, but this is the chain's first African foray south of Egypt and Morocco.

Four Seasons… has announced a long term agreement with the owners of Bilila Lodge to manage the iconic Tanzanian resort. The property is set to be upgraded and will be rebranded as the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The lodge boasts 60 rooms, 12 suites and 5 villas – all of which have direct views over the Serengeti. Designed with contemporary African architecture that is sympathetic to the landscape, the centrepiece is a two-storey great house, which includes several dining options, a Spa and an infinity-edge swimming pool overlooking an active watering hole.
