Delta's decision not to replace the vendor raises the question of whether its passengers will notice, or care enough, to get the airline to change its mind. This might be the perfect test-case for the true appeal of duty-free.

Security of aviation is of the utmost priority, but so is ensuring the convenience of flying in the long term. If the economic pressure to liberalize the sale and transport of Duty-Free items has helped fund and fuel these initiatives, then we can all drink to that.

Passengers will likely spend more, but many of them will appreciate this as long as its seamless.
