UAE Hotels Slashing Prices To Off Peak Lows Due To Travel Crisis

Skift Take

Authorities and private partners are rolling out staycation discounts, free attraction access, and lifestyle‑focused discount programs to encourage residents to support the hospitality sector.

Luxury hotel rooms in the UAE that would typically sell for thousands of dirhams during peak season have appeared on booking platforms at sharply reduced rates.

To get a measure of the depths of these discounts, Skift compared hotel rates for last weekend with those for the end of July — typically Dubai’s weakest weekend for travel due to the sweltering heat above 110°F.

In a world where the Iran war had never happened, a March weekend in the UAE would be far outstripping July in terms of hotel pricing.

Yet Skift found one Abu Dhabi resort near the marina charging just $369 for a room this weekend that, for the July 24-26 weekend, is on sale for $537. We also found a five-star high-rise hotel in Dubai selling double rooms for $311, $15 less than in July.

One resort on Dubai’s The Palm Jumeirah ($310) and one hotel in the central business district ($344) were charging roughly the same across the different weekends.
