The U.S. government has released new data on inbound tourism now that the shutdown is over, revealing a disappointing September for travel to the U.S.

Overseas visitation was down 7.7% for the month at 2.8 million, according to data from the National Travel and Tourism Office. The latest figures are the largest drop since the 11.6% decline in March and outpace August’s 2.9% decline, likely in part due to seasonal travel trends.
