The New Thomas Cook Family Resorts That Will Be Uber-Connected

Think about it: a good way to get rid of kids on holidays, let them do what they do best when ignoring you at home. But seriously, tech-friendly family resorts will increasingly become the new normal.

Thomas Cook, the UK-based tour and travel giant, is launching a new range of hi-tech resorts for families that will make the travelers who want to stay connected very happy.

Branded SunConnect -- taking cues from its new smiling sun logo -- these all--inclusive family resorts will go beyond free-wi-fi, with tech-friendly rooms, teen online gaming areas, dining rooms with touchscreen ordering options, and other digital devices throughout the resort area. It will also the ability to browse and book daily activities through smartphones and tablets.

Each resort will also have a "ConnectScout," a tech-savvy holiday host who will facilitate digital activities for the whole family such as geocaching or Xbox gaming.

Thomas Cook initially launch ten resorts, available for summer 2014  in destinations such as Turkey, Cyprus, Gran Canaria, Majorca, Tunisia and Croatia.
