LodgeNet rebrands to Sonifi, as it looks to shed past troubles

LodgeNet, the troubled hotel in-room entertainment firm which just went through a slew of changes over the last few years including new owners, a bankruptcy, and management issues, is now trying to shed the troubles of its past, and has rebranded itself as Sonifi Solutions.

In its announcement, Sonifi, which claims to reach 1.4 million hotel rooms, indicated it is launching the Sonifi Stay1000 platform, and will make significant investments in broadband services.

Earlier this year, the company entered into a partnership with DirecTV, which finances some HDTV upgrades for hotels. Sonifi claims it will enter into new strategic partnerships along these lines in the coming months.
