Five drivers in Maine who trust a GPS more than their eyes

Police say a motorist following GPS directions took a road less traveled and ended up having to be rescued after his car became submerged in water.
Officials say the motorist had to climb on top of his 2005 Pontiac Grand Am to await rescue by the Lebanon Rescue Department Friday morning. Lebanon Rescue Crew Chief Mike Sabine used his truck to back up to the car, allowing the driver to jump to safety.
Assistant Chief Jason Cole says motorists should never try to cross a flooded road.
Cole says there have been five cases in the past few years of motorists ending up in the same predicament. He says the road is listed on GPS, but that it's not maintained by the town.
