The “social” hotel of the future could look something like this

Tablet Hotels and Jovoto ran a design competition, Rethink Hotels, asking designers to think up what the social hotel of the future would look like in New York. Tablet described its ideal property as “a hotel that’s a creative crossroads, where guests and locals make serendipitous connections of all kinds.”

Although the grand prize went to a brilliant concept that placed a farmer’s market at the center of a hotel, we think the second place winner offers even more to out-of-town visitors. “Carry On, New York” designed by Brian Evan Thompson takes the city’s daily life and places it on guests’ “front porch.”
