Aviation geek heaven: original lease between Port Authority and NYC for airports
This is great read for aviation historians and #avgeeks (the twitter hashtag of choice for, obviously, aviation geeks): the original lease signed between then nascent Port Authority of New York & New Jersey(or “The Port of New York Authority” as it was called then) and city of New York, on April 17, 1947. A law firm in Harrisburg, PA asked for it through a Freedom of Information request earlier this year, and was filed online on PANYNJ website, where we found it.
Tons of great stats and information to dig into, and marvel at the number of airlines that used to operate back then in U.S. and have since been shut down or consolidated.
