Living in a Japanese-Scandinavian heaven: Monocle Travel Top 50 for 2012/13

For a certain set, this is the travel bible for the next year. On this list, we're watching the moves from Norwegian and Turkish airlines for the next year.

Monocle magazine is out with its top travel picks for 2012/13 in its latest Dec 2012/Jan 2013 issue, and they're what you would expect from them: heavy on anything Japanese, followed by Scandinavian/Nordic design sensibility. The only stateside (ugh, ugly American!) entity that makes the list is, surprise, surprise: Best hotel brand: 21C Museum Hotels in Louisville for art in it hotels/rooms. And then Canada gets one nod for Billy Bishop Toronto city airport, as the best North American airport.
