Turkish TV series popularity across Arab world fuels its tourism boom

Tour leaders aross the Arab world say they have seen a remarkable increase in tourism to Turkey this year. The rise can be attributed to the Arab Spring, which has made popular destinations like Lebanon and Egypt less attractive, coupled with the popularity of Turkish television series that are dubbed in Arabic and transmitted all over the region.

"The TV series are responsible for a 50% increase in the number of tourists to Turkey, and claims that one series in particular — "Magnificent Century" — has played a strong role."
