Hotel Concierge App Alice Secures $1.3 Million in Funding

Alice, a concierge app for the hotel industry, recently picked up $1.3 million in seed funding, bringing the total funding for the startup, founded in July 2012, to nearly $2 million.

Investors include nearly 10 angels, including Todd Arky, Jason Finger and Paul Appelbaum, co-founders of Seamless Web; Jason Pomeranc, founder of Thompson Hotel Group, and David Morton, co-founder of CarRentals.com. Laconia Ventures and 645 Ventures also participated.

The app enables a hotel’s guests to order room service before arrival, make dinner reservations through the concierge, and line up spa services during their stay. Alice has agreements with multiple hotel groups that represent more than 300 properties.

Co-Founder and CEO Justin Effon says the funding will be used to develop the platform, provide additional support to clients, and add staff.
