Greg Hong, CEO and co-founder, spoke at the Skift Global Forum. Hong’s talk on “Why Dining is The Next Frontier of Disruption in Travel” explored the ways in which technology can improve the dining experience.
Hong highlighted three big ways where technology is changing the restaurant industry, and each one has a lesson for other parts of hospitality. The first is digitizing the experience of a concierge and the power of discovery. The second is how tech providers are learning how to work with businesses on reservations to better align interests. Lastly, restaurants are showing others how to streamline the payment process to make it more fluid and intuitive.
