Large corporations are the early adopters of travel technology and apps

  • Skift Take
The differentiation between travelers from large and small businesses highlights the amount of energy it takes for an organization to teach travelers about the available tech solutions.

Small businesses have been much slower than large corporations to adopt mobile solutions of all kinds on the road…“Small business professionals’ usage and satisfaction with mobile business apps is lagging their larger competitors.”

Concur’s research suggests that business travellers at large companies have more business-related apps on their mobile devices. Nearly 28% have five or more apps, compared with 21% at smaller businesses. In addition, small-biz travellers still tend to rely on laptops rather than mobile phones while travelling (52% vs. 45% at larger businesses.) “To be quite honest, we’re not sure exactly why we’re seeing that discrepancy,” Mr. Newell says. “But we can speculate on some of the possible reasons.”
