Singapore Airlines launches in-flight mobile and Internet connectivity

    The airline is the first to offer this breadth of free services onboard, and although some SMS roaming charges will apply, it’s another step in the right direction for universal connectivity.

    Singapore Airlines has launched the “In-Flight Connectivity Programme” as part of a US$50 million effort to bring internet and mobile data services to its passengers.

    A-List Membership Has Its Rewards

    Its In-Flight Connectivity service allows travellers to surf the internet, as well as to send and receive emails and SMS text messages on smartphones and other electronic devices.

    The service is now available on 14 SIA aircraft, including all five Airbus A340-500s, which are deployed on non-stop flights from Singapore to the United States.
