Baidu ties up with Skyscanner for flight info, to take on Google

  • Skift Take
Skyscanner, the not-Kayak, is having a good year so far, and Baidu’s ramping up its flanks against Google’s travel push.

Baidu, China’s largest search engine, has signed a deal with Skyscanner, the UK-based flight search company, to provide travel information to its users. People looking for international flights on the Baidu will be presented with results pulled from Skyscanner’s database of more than 750 million air fares from in excess of 900 airlines.

Baidu last year took a majority stake in Qunar, one of China’s oldest and biggest online travel agents, and uses Qunar’s results for domestic flight searches.
