This week’s startups use technology to create useful solutions to lesser talked about travel troubles. Their creativity is what sets them apart in a crowded travel startup market.

>> RentLuggage is an online rental shop where users can lend or rent luggage. The platform carries brand name bags and a wide range of products from car toppers to backpacks to golf bags.
SkiftTake: Luggage, with a relatively low price point and long shelf life, is a reasonable purchase for any one taking a trip, shrinking the potential user base for such a site.
>> Revocharge is a wireless charging case that can power smartphones even when users are away from a plug.
SkiftTake: Keeping a mobile phone charged when away from traditional outlets is a concern for almost any owner. Affordable and durable solutions will always find a place in today’s market.
>> Yepzon is a device that allows parents to track their children’s location via a smartphone app. The benefits of having a tool like this are evident when in a crowded theme park or open beach.
SkiftTake: This is a clever tool for anybody who has ever had to keep track of a child in large public spaces or amusement parks. The benefits are obvious as long as the technology stays with the parents and not predators.
>> Clipter is a new kind of trip planning platform that collects and organizes trip participants’ short videos to create a live stream of a trip or event. Others can subscribe to stories and follow them as they are updated.
SkiftTake: This is a creative trip planning solution in that the videos are short enough to be entertaining and the platform easy enough to be enjoyed without taking away from the actual trip.
>> Rex is the anti-review site for restaurants. Users can recommend a place to friends with one tap, but no reviews or check-ins are allowed on the app. Users can only see the venues recommended by friends to build trust.
SkiftTake: The anti-review model is a mistake that limits options for users and makes it the site useless in a destination where none of your friends have been.
