HomeAway Signs Large European Vacation Rental Provider To Pay-Per-Booking

  • Skift Take
Interhome is HomeAway’s largest catch so far as the professional manager of vacation homes signed on to HomeAway’s pay-per booking program. Expect a parade of others to soon follow.

HomeAway signed the largest vacation rental provider so far, Switzerland-based Interhome, to HomeAway’s new pay-per booking model.

Under pay-per booking, HomeAway charges vacation rental owners or managers a 10% commission instead of them paying an annual subscription to list their properties.

Interhome’s signing up for HomeAway’s pay-per booking isn’t a huge surprise since it has been a longtime HomeAway customer.

Late last year Interhome became a key player in Booking.com’s push to begin competing with HomeAway, Flipkey and others as Booking.com began integrating Interhome’s listings.

Booking.com is believed to be a key distribution channel for Interhome, which is a professional manager of vacation homes, and HomeAway is also an important distribution channel for Interhome.

Interhome’s deal with HomeAway means that “tens of thousands” of its professionally managed properties, with a concentration in France, Italty, Spain and Switzerland, will get added to HomeAway’s per-per booking program.

Interhome’s properties will start appearing first on HomeAway’s U.S. sites HomeAway.com and VRBO, and European sites FeWo-Direkt and HomeAway.co.uk. They will be rolled out  later to additional sites around the world, including Abritel.fr in France.
