Earlier this week, we reported on how hotel revenue management company Duetto raised an $80 million Series D round. The company’s total funding stands at $143.2 million since it was founded in 2012.
We also noted how hotel revenue management remains a complex challenge for hotel brands, and a variety of software-as-a-service companies have stepped up with more user-friendly and powerful solutions.
Here are additional fundings to report:
>>WeTravel, a payment platform for small and medium-size travel companies, raised a $2 million seed round. This is the first funding round the San Francisco-based company has raised since it was founded in 2016.
The company said investors include Berkeley-based The House Fund, 500 Startups, Amino Capital, Brett Wilson, the former CEO of TubeMogul, and other investors.
WeTravel allows travel companies to create booking pages for clients, accept payments and manage promotion, communication, and financials. The company had more than $15 million in transactions in 2017, and recently opened a European subsidiary to start its international expansion.
>>HeyHolidays raised a $1 million seed round led by Hampton Capital. This is the Singapore-based company’s first round since it launched in 2016. HeyHolidays is an alternative accommodation rental site for cities and resort destinations around the world.
