Delta Debuts TUMI Amenity Kits With Review of Amenity Kits Past

  • Skift Take
They should at least bring back the gum for Economy passengers, no?

Delta Airlines has debuted new TUMI cabin amenity kits for its Delta One customers.

To illustrate that flying is indeed far more comfortable today than it was in yesteryear, the airline also released a short clip on YouTube which recalls amenity kits past.

Delta’s newly upgraded passenger kits feature the collectible TUMI bags, in a hard and soft-sided version, containing a TUMI soft-touch pen and eyeshades; MALIN+GOETZ lip moisturiser, body lotion, new mouthwash, striped socks, facial tissues, earplugs and a dental kit with Crest toothpaste.

The airline will alternate between the hard-case and soft-side kits on outbound and return flights, so passengers get a chance to collect one of each if they book roundtrip tickets.

Delta also released a 21-second video on YouTube featuring a its historic collection of flight kits from the 1920s to 1978, which featured comforts like Wrigley’s gum to help with that ear popping problem, comfort blanket and smoker’s delights (because blankets, fire and flying go well together), more Wrigley’s gum, and an upscale zipped bag with high-end comforts like a comb and Pepsodent toothpaste.
