Accor Acquires Fastbooking to Enhance Hotels’ Digital Performance

  • Skift Take
Accor realizes that digital services are a strategic imperative for its hotels and the hotel industry in general and the hotel group is doing all it can to bring those skills in-house.

While companies such as Booking.com and Alibaba invest in providing digital services to hotels, Paris-based Accor decided to bring these skills in-house by acquiring France-based Fastbooking.

Fastbooking counts some 4,000 hotels, mostly in Europe and Asia, as customers and provides them with website development, marketing and channel management services.

Accor CEO Sébastien Bazin said the acquisition of Fastbooking, which follows its acquisition of itinerary-management service Wipolo in October, will help to accelerate the hotel group’s digital strategy. Accor didn’t disclose the terms of the Fastbooking acquisition.
