Although Singapore Changi Airport is the most liked airport on Facebook, it can’t rest on its laurels on the social network: Dubai International is making friends more than 50% faster.
And while travel brands and advertisers are disappointed by the withering of organic reach on Facebook, the site remains one of the more effective ways for airports to be heard above the noise. Both Dubai and Los Angeles Airports (LAX) are undergoing major renovations, and both are vigilant about communicating the changes and updates with their audience via Facebook.
There is no doubt that keeping passengers well-informed goes a long way, but Dubai’s Earth Hour campaign in the month of March skyrocketed their page likes past Los Angeles’ user generated photo contest for #LAXPhotoWeek in March and Singapore Changi Airport’s #SocialMediaMonth campaign.
British celebrities, throwbacks and celebration of airport staff are amongst the reliable content that is helping London Heathrow (LHR) grow their Facebook audience steadily. Seoul Incheon (ICN) hosts regular Korean art and culture events is contributing to modest and upward healthy page likes.
Here’s a look at the airport’s follower growth over the last 60 days.
