Priceline Posts Big Profit and Room Night Growth Numbers in Q3

    With these kinds of numbers, Expedia’s uphill fight in Europe continues to get steeper.

    Priceline saw its net income rise 39.5% to $833 million in the third quarter, propelled by a 36% jump in hotel room nights.

    The 36% room night growth, a key metric, bested that of rival Expedia Inc., which saw a room night boost of 20% in the third quarter.

    Priceline’s revenue climbed 33% to $2.26 billion.
