The World Airline Entertainment Association named five airlines this year as finalists for its annual Avion Passenger Choice Awards.
The Avion Awards honored Delta Air Lines for the creation of the Sky Deck, an open-air terrace with airfield views, which it has added to both its Atlanta and New York CIty Delta Sky Clubs.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines earned a spot on the finalist list for the revamp of its web interface.
Israel’s EL AL was recognized for the new vacation planning function in its booking system.
American Airlines also got a nod for its booking system, which now offers additional travel options for more flexibility on amenities and pricing.
Virgin America became a finalist for the newest update to its in-flight entertainment system, which lets passengers chat with each other and watch live TV and peruse web content in addition to viewing the airline’s standard movie library.
The winner will be announced on September 9 during the APEX 2013 Expo in Anaheim, California.
