On Tuesday morning Australia time, Qantas went all out to unveil the new look for its crew. Gone are the patterns done by whoever used to do them, incoming are clothing designs by Martin Grant (based in Paris but Australian-born) and shoes by Christian Louboutin (yes, with the red on the bottom).
Unlike other uniform debuts that have more in common with mandatory exercises at parochial schools, Qantas acted like it was Fashion Week and put on a runway performance at a venue in Sydney. The star of the show was ex-Victoria Secret model Miranda Kerr, who did the catwalk as if she was modeling a ready-to-wear design rather than a uniform for flight attendants.
