We don’t know who these 10 agencies are, likely all offline ones. DoT has of late become a lot stricter on enforcing the decade-plus old rule, and with humans involved with travel agencies, enforcement becomes an issue.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is auditing the nation’s top 10 brick-and-mortar agencies for compliance to its airlines code share disclosure rule, according to an internal note by ravel agents association ASTA.

The audit is expected to conclude by June 30, after which the DOT “will take any enforcement action necessary..the DOT was aiming to make an example out of those agencies that are not fully compliant.

The rule stipulates that whoever supplies information about flights to consumers, including airlines and ticketing agents, must convey that information to the consumer…Congress’ focus on the rule intensified after the crash of a Colgan Air flight crash from Newark to Buffalo in 2009.
