Tourism highlights problems with Indonesia’s outdated transportation infrastructure

The undeveloped nation wasn’t prepared for the massive boost of tourism, which has come upon its shores in recent years, and is now working to improve roads and airports to improve and fuel future tourism.

Airport service, traffic jams, cleanliness and safety are some of the old problems that hamper the development of tourism in Bali, as has long been said by tourists.

Ngurah Rai International Airport was considered to be inconvenient compared to international airports in other countries… The ongoing construction project at the airport has made the place even more inconvenient. Electricity blackouts that often occur have further tarnished the airport’s image as the main gateway to Indonesia’s tourism.

Traffic jams are also another pressing problem in Bali, especially in Kuta and Nusa Dua, affecting the tourists’ schedules. “A trip that we could previously complete in one-and-a-half-hours now takes three hours,” he said.
