The rise of activity tourists and responsible tourism

    How do activity tourists, usually interested in one activity at the cost of others, view responsible tourism, both from an economic and environmental point of view?

    For communities, activity tourism — skiing, diving, riding, climbing & others —  can be a development route when tourism options are limited and can arguably have greater economic benefits than some other forms of tourism, with the related requirements of equipment supply, rental and maintenance and tuition and guiding… [but] One activity can be pursued to the detriment of any other – not a good basis for a tourism strategy – eggs and one basket spring to mind.

    And do the tourists care?  Will they pursue their hobby at all cost just to get that adrenaline buzz or the tick off another destination, descent, climb or course?
