Does the progress in diversity efforts in the executive levels of travel companies and organizations stop as the primary motivation becomes survival? We’ll dig in with Christa Quarles, former CEO of OpenTable.

In our list of 100 Questions About the Coming Future of Travel late last month, I posed this question: “Does the progress in diversity efforts in the executive levels of travel companies and organizations stop as the primary motivation becomes survival?”

This has been top of mind for us and to discuss and dissect this question, I am excited to welcome Christa Quarles on The Long View livestream this coming week, at 3 p.m. ET on Friday. Quarles was most recently the CEO of OpenTable, where she managed over 1,100 employees and operations in over 20 countries. Prior to joining OpenTable, she served as the chief business officer for Nextdoor. She has been a board member at Kimberly-Clark since 2016 as well as at Affirm, Inc. since October 2018.

Quarles has been outspoken about the need for diversity across all levels of companies, especially executive and board level, and in this pandemic age where survival is the main motivation of travel companies, could diversity efforts be stalled? Some progress has been made at travel companies, lots still to be done. We will dig in with Christa this Friday, join us at 3 p.m. ET, register below for it.
