Travel CEOs to Meet for First Time With Trump at White House

President Donald Trump will meet on Tuesday with more than a dozen CEOs from the travel industry, including its chief lobbyist Roger Dow. This will be the first time Trump has met with travel leaders since taking office more than 20 months ago.

The names of the CEOs were not disclosed early Tuesday. The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the White House. Besides the president, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and chief economic advisor Larry Kudlow are expected to sit in.

The agenda of the meeting will include the role of international inbound travel in export growth; the role that inbound and domestic travel plays in employment and economic growth; and the reauthorization of Brand USA, according to a source.

The president’s travel ban has raised concerns that it’s hurting inbound travel to the U.S., creating a so-called Trump Slump. Dow will most likely make clear that the White House needs to articulate more clearly that legitimate travelers to the U.S. are still welcome, said an official familiar with the meeting.
