Travelzen, Room On Call and More in This Week’s Travel Startup Funding

    >>Travelzen raised a $92 million Series C round from new investors Addor Capital, Tech Sina reported and United Capital bringing the Shanghai-based company’s total funding to $103.6 million.

    Travelzen operates online business-to-government travel services platform Travelzen.com and mobile and online B2B travel services platform Tdxinfo.com. Tdxinfo.com launched in December 2013 and since then the company’s business model has pivoted from B2C to B2B. Its core business is focused on supplying flight inventory to Chinese travel brands.

    Travelzen was founded in 2007 in Hong Kong as a joint venture between Shanghai-based Ever Bright Town International Travel Agency and a foreign private equity group. It purchased Ever Bright Town International Travel Agency in March 2011 and moved its headquarters to Shanghai in August 2011.

    >>Distribusion Technologies raised a $6.7 million Series A round from existing investor HR Ventures and new investors Creandum, Frühphasenfonds Brandenburg and Northzone bringing the Berlin, Germany-based startup’s total funding to nearly $7 million.

    The company is a global distribution system for intercity bus and shuttle rides. It provides two million bookable rides from more than 165 bus operators in 25 countries to online travel agencies and other travel sellers and was founded in 2012.

    >>Room On Call raised a $2 million seed round from new investor CashurDrive Marketing bringing the Gurgaon, India-based startup’s total funding to $2.3 million.

    Room on Call is a hotel booking site in India. It was founded in 2015 and has hotels bookable in more than 30 Indian cities.
